New Furnace Or Boat Or Air Conditioning?

Cloquet Chamber event tries to have something for everyone.
Cloquet Update

Well, it’s not winter, and it’s not spring, so you can’t blame anyone for being a bit confused.

But people may get some clarity Friday and Saturday at the Home, Business and Sports Show.

One hundred and twenty-five businesses from roofers to outboard motor dealers will be at the event put on by the Cloquet Area Chamber of Commerce.

The businesses will be there to help people come up with their year-round home and recreation plans.

People that lucked out with an old furnace this winter may now be thinking of air conditioning.

“We love coming to this kind of thing because this is where we get to have face-to-face conversations with our customers,” said Charlie Deville, Program Manager with North Star Mechanical Services.

“A lot of people don’t think about their heating elements and their cooling elements when they’re outside of the home. So, we have this mini-split that’s running right here to kind of spark people’s interest in these kinds of things,” said Deville.

The event is going on at the Black Bear Casino.

Chamber President Kelly Zink says that with everything under one roof, the chamber wants people to realize they don’t have to drive to other cities or buy online.

“We have the boats, the RVs, the vehicles. We also have home improvement, and so if you are looking to do any kind of home improvement, there’s somebody here to help you,” Zink said.

“And we also have businesses, and we have a craft show. So literally there is something here for everyone.”

Zink says the two days are family-friendly, with zoo animals, canine demonstrations and dancing.

Friday was the first day and it continues Saturday from nine to five. Admission and parking are free.
