Senator Tammy Baldwin (D) Begins Five-Day Campaign Tour Through the State

SUPERIOR, Wis. — Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin (D) kicked off her five-day Dairyland campaign tour Monday afternoon with the first stop being made in Superior.

Baldwin spoke about the issues that she believes are the most important ones facing people in Wisconsin. “I am focused on the pocketbook issues of Wisconsinites,” said Baldwin. “Listening to the people of this state is a really important aspect part of the campaign. My opponent is somebody who owns a bank in California and was recruited by Washington DC Republicans to get into the race. “

The views of Baldwin and her opponent Eric Hovde are opposites according to Baldwin. She spoke of her efforts to bring down prescription prices and how she worked to get the Affordable Care Act passed. Baldwin says the ACA, and Social Security are two examples of how Hovde’s plans for changing those programs would harm the average Wisconsinite.

“The idea that my opponent would cut Social Security or raise the retirement age for eligibility for Social Security would be disastrous for so many Wisconsinites, “said Baldwin.

Superior Mayor Jim Paine also talked with Baldwin about the need for broadband in the city.

Following that meeting, Baldwin headed to Bayport and Ashland to continue the first day of her tour.
