Duluth Salvation Army Surpasses March Food Drive Goal with Help from Rotary Club Of Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. — Thanks to a generous donation the Duluth Salvation Army has exceeded their March Food Drive Goal.
The Rotary Club of Duluth donated a check of $14,890. That will help provide food to those in need in the community. The Salvation Army’s goal was $9,000 and 9,000 pounds of food, which they say they almost didn’t reach. But the Rotary made it possible with a motto that they live by which is service above self, always focused on serving others.
“It’s amazing to see the community say, ‘listen we need to work together.’ Instead of focusing on me, we focus on us or we in this community. So, it’s always impressive to see, it’s always amazing to see, and it’s something I love being a part of,” said Anthony Nordan, Corps Officer at the Duluth Salvation Army.
March is Minnesota FoodShare Month. The Minnesota FoodShare Campaign will match the donations.
