Volunteers Assist in Canal Park and Lakewalk Cleanup

DULUTH, Minn. — A last-minute plan turned into a good turnout of volunteers on a mission to better their city.

Twin Ports Trailer Trash announced it would be bringing its junk removal services to Canal Park on Monday.

The company called upon volunteers to assist in the cleaning and were shocked by the turnout. The crews also worked on clearing the Lakewalk of trash.

For every volunteer who showed up, Twin Ports Trailer Trash says they will donate a blanket to the Union Gospel Mission.

“The turnout is way more than I expected, we just announced this last night, so it’s a testament to the people of this city really,” said Bernard McCarthy, Twin Ports Trailer Trash Owner.

One of the volunteers was born and raised in Duluth, and said she has great respect for Canal Park and Lake Superior.

“I started cold water dipping in the lake in January, which I love. And so the lake, I thought it meant something to me before, but being in it, and submersing in it makes it mean so much more,” said Mary F. Lee, cleanup volunteer.

Twin Ports Trailer Trash, comes to your house to help remove whatever junk you want to get rid of unwanted appliances or an entire house of junk.
