St. Louis County Commissioner Grimm Wins DFL Endorsement
DULUTH, Minn. – St. Louis County Commissioner Ashley Grimm has won the DFL endorsement over challenger and Duluth city councilor Janet Kennedy.
Grimm said she won by a margin of 63 percent to 28 percent.
The 3rd district commissioner has served on the county board since January 2021.
In a statement Sunday, Grimm said her priorities for the next term include “continuing her work to create an ongoing funding stream for childcare, create more affordable ways to build housing to help close the home-ownership gap, and to support local community centers.”
Kennedy, who announced her run for county commissioner earlier this year, said the county needs a commissioner that looks like her to help transform social service programming and the criminal justice system, which she said is not working for everyone.
