10th Annual Superior Day of Giving
SUPERIOR, Wis. — The UWS biggest day of giving takes place Tuesday. The event is in its 10th year and has raised over a million dollars so far.
The Annual Superior Day of Giving is an opportunity to support students, faculty and staff. The UWS Foundation is in charge of fundraising and says they welcome contributions large and small. Shannon Hoffman, the Foundation’s Annual Giving Manager says funds raised go toward programs and scholarships. She says Zoey, the dog who serves as mascot for the day, is a key part of their outreach.
“I love when I am sitting in my office Zoe comes in and asks for pets and love and goldfish. She’s been able to bridge the gap between our office and the students,” said Shannon Hoffman, Foundation Annual Giving Manager at UWS.
The Day of Giving is part of the weeklong I Heart UWS, where the university gives back to the community that has been so supportive of them. Heather Thompson, Director of Alumni Relations says even though I Heart UWS just started a few years ago, it has made a huge impact.
“It’s such a good way to celebrate everything we have going on at this university. And our students, our faculty, our staff our alumni, and the community that makes this place so great,” said Heather Thompson, Director of Alumni Relations at UWS.
I Heart UWS Week includes concerts, plays, a casino night, sports and more. All events are open to the public. I Heart UWS Week continues through Sunday. Find out how to make your donation to the university by clicking here.
