Semi Rolls Over On Bong Bridge, Trees Fall During Windy Spring Storm
DULUTH, Minn. – It was quite the scene Tuesday evening on the Bong Bridge when a semi toppled onto its side, taking a light pole down with it.
Miraculously, no vehicles were hit.
The accident happened during the 5 o’clock hour and during a spring storm that was producing wind gusts over 50 mph.
The Minnesota State Patrol said the FedEx semi was empty at the time of the accident.
The driver was not seriously injured.
The bridge re-opened around 8 p.m., according to the State Patrol.
Meanwhile, trees came down in the strong winds Tuesday.
A big one in the Duluth Heights neighborhood fell into a front yard of a home, barely missing it.
Nobody was hurt.
