Annual Raising of the Roses Starting This Weekend

DULUTH, Minn. — An annual event including flowers is taking place starting this weekend.

It is the Raising of the Roses at the Rose Garden! It’s an open-house style community event. City of Duluth Parks and Rec staff and the Lake Superior Rose Society are inviting anyone to come out to help.

Experts will be on hand to teach volunteers about the Minnesota Tip Method, the process that protects roses from harsh winter conditions. Which then will be raised in the spring to bloom and grow.

All tools will be provided. The event between 12th and 13th Avenue East on London Road starts 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. It will happen again Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
