GND Rec Center Hosts Spring Rummage Sale

DULUTH, Minn. — A rummage sale is taking place this weekend and it’s all for a good cause.

The Gary New Duluth Recreation Center hosting the annual spring sale starting Thursday. The event has a wide variety of items available from different puzzles, books, and lots of clothing. Funds raised go toward ongoing activities at the Rec Center. The biggest activity was raising money for the skatepark. Which will be in the final process of finishing it in May.

Community members have been a big part in making the sale successful.

“We started really small in the old fire hall, literally begging people to come in off the streets. And now it’s really grown to a rather big event,” said Kisty Haller, board member of the GND Development Alliance.

This is the 8th year of the fundraiser. The sale runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and then again on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
