MnDOT Construction Hiring Season Begins

DULUTH, Minn. — The construction hiring season begins at MnDOT with positions available that range from filling potholes to full blown construction projects.

Their Public Affairs Coordinator says the push to hire means more projects on the road. And to remember as you drive around town, surrounding areas won’t look the same as work progresses from week to week. She warns to have an increased eye toward safety throughout the summer.

“We are really ramping up with our projects so be aware. Give workers the space to do their job…everyone wants to get home safely. So slow down and pay attention to what is going on around you,” said Margie Nelson, MnDOT Public Affairs Coordinator.

Nelson says to expect lane closures in Carlton County Monday as work on I-35 gets underway. In the coming weeks, that project will bring significant traffic delays throughout the region. Continue to check MnDOT’s website for job opening updates.
