Recycle Your Worn Out Running Shoes at Duluth Running Company
DULUTH, Minn. — With Earth Day happening earlier this week and trying to find ways to keep the Earth clean, Duluth Running Company has a box set up in their store for recycling used running shoes. They have teamed up with a Miami based company called Sneaker Impact that collects worn out shoes from around the world and gives them a new purpose. That may be shipping them to people who don’t have access to shoes, or grinding them down to make recycled products. Either way, they only accept running shoes.
“Not boots, nothing like super heavy. Just running shoes and they have to be in clean condition. We don’t want shoes that are full of dirt just coming out of mud puddles and stuff like that,” said Duluth Running Company retail experience manager Addison Kyte.
They have already filled up their box several times to send off to Sneaker Impact who decides the best future for each recycled pair of shoes.
