Damiano Center Has Job Opportunity For Teens
DULUTH, Minn. — The Damiano Center has a job opportunity for teenagers looking to make a difference in younger people’s lives.
The Summer Food Corps position is all about learning to garden and helping make healthy meals but also leading activities and supporting the Kid’s Kitchen. The Kid’s Kitchen is a free drop-in children’s program that runs 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. It is a safe space with daily activities, homework help, and a meal. The Damiano Center is looking for 4 people ages 14 to 18 to help out this summer.
“The experience is going to be for them to engage cause it’s going to give them the incentive that you’re going to be helping these youth and you’re going to be set as a role model for them,” said Maria Alicea, Children’s Program Manager.
The Summer Food Corps position will even give teens the opportunity to work on their resumes and practice interview skills. The seasonal position goes from June to August and pays $13 an hour. Go to the Damiano Center’s website to apply.
