Duluth Junk Hunt Growing Over the Years at the DECC
DULUTH, Minn. — A 3-day indoor market filled with vintage items and handmade goods is taking place at the DECC this weekend.
The Duluth Junk Hunt has over 150 vendors. Visitors can find furniture, home decor, clothing, bakery treats, artwork and more. The Junk Hunt happens twice a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Part of the proceeds go to a local non-profit with this year to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank.
This is the 12th year of the event, and it keeps growing.
“It’s really nice to be able to have the space to allow our vendors to create and we want to create lots of big space for people hauling furniture in and out throughout the weekend. And just give people elbow room to shop and have fun and come down with their family. We want to create just a big welcoming environment,” said Emily Broman, organizer and founder of the Duluth Junk Hunt.
One vendor finds hidden treasures that can be reused. They have been coming to the Junk Hunt from the beginning.
“It’s fun we know people we see them every year they come and set up and it’s just good to see them. And there’s such a variety here that’s what I like,” said Gene LaFond, co-owner of Pickin & Grinnin. “And then people come that have bought before. They know they’ll find some rusty things here.”
There are many cool photo opportunities all around the event. The fun starts up again Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 online or $7 at the door.
