City of Superior Reminds Boaters to Purchase Launch Passes for the Wisconsin Fishing Opener

Boat Launch Still

SUPERIOR, Wis.– With the Wisconsin fishing opener happening this weekend, the City of Superior is reminding people to purchase a boat launch pass for certain landings in the city.

The City of Superior maintains multiple boat landings for public use. The city owned landings require either annual or day launch passes.

Including one of the most popular launches in the Twin Ports, Loon’s Foot Landing. All landings have restroom facilities and both Loon’s Foot and Barker’s Island landings have fish cleaning stations.

“The City of Superior owns and manages and maintains boat launches in the City of Superior, little different then over across the bridge in Minnesota,” said Linda Cadotte, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry for the City of Superior.  “They’re maintained in Superior on public funds which is why we charge a launch fee to help support the launches.”

Landings maintained by the City of Superior.

  • Arrowhead – west end of the City off Belknap Street
  • North 21st Street – west end of the City off 21st Street.
