Boben’s Pitching Leads Hibbing Softball Past Denfeld

Fourth-straight win for Bluejackets

DULUTH, Minn.- A 17-strikeout performance by Hibbing’s Aune Boben was a key factor in the Bluejackets’ 17-2 win over Duluth Denfeld on Thursday.

In a complete game on the mound, Boben only allowed three hits and two walks on 102 pitches. At the plate, she went a perfect 4-4, including a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Kori McCormick was also effective at the plate, going 4-5 with 5 RBI. Jenna Sacco-LaMusga was 2-4 with two RBI and a pair of runs.

This win puts Hibbing at 11-2 overall ahead of Friday’s home game against Greenway at 3 p.m. Denfeld, who later lost 3-0 to Rock Ridge in a second game on Thursday, will host South Ridge on Monday.
