Chalstrom’s Bait and Tackle Shop Busy Ahead of Fishing Opener
DULUTH, Minn. — Chalstrom’s was a popular spot for bait and tackle this week as anglers get ready for the Minnesota Fishing Opener.
In the land of 10,000 lakes, the fishing opener is an unofficial holiday for Minnesotans.
Chalstrom’s has just about everything one needs before hitting the water, including bait, lures, and of course snacks.
Chalstrom’s says the week leading up to the opener is always busy and that reigned true as many people stopped by Friday ahead of a weekend full of fishing.
“Two dozen clubs, that’s kind of the hot ticket, said Caleb Mannon with Chalstrom’s. “We have them all prepacked in the bucket, that way when people come and want two dozen clubs we can get people in and out as fast as we can.”
Chalstrom’s is a bait, tackle and archery pro shop located on Rice Lake Road in Duluth. The shop will be open Saturday 5 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
