DULUTH, Minn. — The Glensheen Mansion is preparing for their annual events that give the community a show while taking in the beautiful views of Lake Superior.

Concerts on the Pier is a popular free Wednesday Night event. It is a way to welcome people on Glensheen’s historic grounds during the summer. New this year the lineup is the biggest it’s ever been with 18 total groups. That’s 9 headliners and 9 openers for a total of 2 and a half hours of music.

Staff says it is rare to have a concert where people can also watch from the water.

“This is one of those ways where it’s really accessible, it’s free. But it’s also something where maybe you’re not interested in necessarily touring the house or touring the grounds. But you would come down here for an event and then you start to learn more about the history and the goal of preservation that we have down here,” said Mike Mayou, Glensheen Marketing Manager.

Visitors can enjoy music from acts such as Father Hennepin and Bad Bad Hats. Concerts on the Pier start July 3rd. Openers begin at 5:30 p.m. with the headliner playing from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
