DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth Parks and Recreation is preparing for a summer of fun.

There are many free programs at parks all around town for all ages from pickleball for adults and seniors, canoeing, family fishing, and pop up plays in the parks for kids. One big event that takes place every summer is their Music in the Park Concert Series. New this year music will take place Chester Park and Lincoln Park, two different locations instead of one.

Staff say they love coming up with creative ways to get the community out to the Duluth parks.

“There’s things that we can’t do all winter. We can’t play pickle ball in our outdoor courts. You know those are things that we have to just wait for summer. So, we’re really excited to kind of showcase all those things that you know we’ve been planning all spring and showing everyone maybe parks that have had construction just finished and they get to see something new,” said Alicia Watts, Assistant Manager for Duluth Parks and Rec.
