St. Louis County Depot Hosts 3rd Annual Steam Festival
DULUTH, Minn. — Kids got to learn and explore, all while having fun at the 3rd annual Steam Festival at the St. Louis County Depot on Saturday.
Organizers at the Depot said the Steam Festival is one of the most popular events each year, and that hailed true as families packed the Depot for the educational event.
Kids could interact with robots from the Duluth Denfeld Robotics team, launch paper rockets, learn to play new instruments and plenty more.
“The goal is to get the kids here and engaged, and to have them take this home with them, to have them continue to be passionate about the arts and the sciences,” said Stacey DeRoche, St. Louis County Depot, Event Coordinator. And we’ve heard testimonials, I just heard one the other day, about somebody who came here, they saw the lego robotics and they decided to do that outside of this event. And that’s what we love to hear about.”
The Steam Fest kids gets hands on experience through engaging activities. This year NASA’s astronaut mascot even got in on the fun.
