Fundraiser For New Timpani Drums Needed At Esko

ESKO, Minn. — Updates on a fundraiser for the Esko Band is music to their ears!

The spring band concert was held Tuesday evening. It was there that the music boosters program discussed the need for new Timpani drums. The drums have aged quite a bit, and it is time to replace them. The instruments are not cheap, they currently have a goal of $12,000. The school has been trying to raise money for this for quite a while.

“We have the longest running fundraiser in Esko school history. We’ve been raising money for the timpanis for quite some time now. They are 50 years old and in desperate need of new timpanis. And so, we’re just doing a big push tonight. We have Superior Squeegee which has generously offered to match donations up to $3,500,” said Stefanie Stewart, Music Boosters President.

Having the new timpani drums would greatly improve the quality of music the kids play. The ones they currently have has its problems.

“It’s difficult to tune them on the fly and that’s probably the single most important thing for the kids. For us out front, when the timpanis are being played loudly and they’re not in tune that becomes a real detriment to the songs,” said Rich Mowers, Esko Band Director.

If you’re interested in donating for the new timpani, you can visit the Esko Music Boosters Facebook page. There is a link for the GoFundMe for this fundraiser.
