Ice Is Gone, Rivers Are Flowing For Whitewater Rafting Season
The ice is gone, the temps are rising and the rivers are ready for rafting.
Minnesota Whitewater Rafting are ready to get people out on the St. Louis River this Memorial Day weekend and the rest of the summer for wild adventures on the rapids.
“You’re gonna to get wet. That’s the biggest thing. People always ask, is someone gonna fall out? Yes, someone’s always gonna fall out. But that’s why we have so many safety people. And yeah, get back in and we got the top rated life jackets and helmets and everyone’s safe and have a really good time,” said Colin Engstrom, vice president of Minnesota Whitewater Rafting.
The good times aren’t just for the experts. All are welcome, and experienced and trained guides are on board.
“We had this little girl. She was I think 12 and it was her whole family and her and she was very nervous. She sat back near me in the back of the boat the entire time. But then we hit a rapid and she got her first spray, and then she’s we came to the side rested a little bit halfway down and she goes I want to be in the front. And then when she was in the front, just eating those waves every time, big smile on her face the end,” Engstrom said.
Engstrom is one of the new owners of Minnesota Whitewater Rafting. He said the company’s longstanding tradition of loving the outdoor won’t change.
