Grandma’s Marathon Looking for More Volunteers Than Ever with a Month to Go
The countdown to race weekend is underway and so is the hunt for volunteers

DULUTH, Minn. — If you’re walking around Canal Park, look up and you’ll see new banners for Grandma’s Marathon.
Race weekend is just a month away and excitement is palpable. The marathon, half-marathon, and 5k races sold out back in January, the second earliest sell-out in race history. But there are still ways to get involved!
“We’ve known for many months that this was likely to be, probably the biggest Grandma’s Marathon weekend that we’ve ever had, in terms of participants that are here,” said Marketing and PR Director Zach Schneider.
“That just leads to added energy put into the preparation. We need to make sure things are on point because we know there’re going to be a lot of people here for race weekend. It also means that we could use more volunteers than we’ve ever had before to take care of that record-setting number of runners that are gonna be on the course.”
Organizers say they are still looking for help, especially at water station and during the 5k Friday night. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can go to grandmasmarathon.com
