Manufacturing Organization Raising Money For Youth Programs
CLOQUET, Minn. — A non-profit organization focused on strengthening the manufacturing industry had their annual fundraiser on Monday.
Arrowhead Manufacturers & Fabricators Association or AMFA had their annual golf social at the Cloquet Country Club. This is their primary fundraiser that benefits youth manufacturing programs. The organization serves the Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin regions. They give grants to local high schools for equipment or tours of manufacturers. It doesn’t matter what age you are; the group hopes to help all kids understand what the job is all about.
“I think just the importance of opening their eyes to the possibility of getting a decent paying job, you know the good benefits up in the Iron Range where they grew up. And you know a lot of people like that. So, I think that’s important if we can get the future workers involved at a young age, it’s a win for everyone,” said Wade Karnes, President of AMFA.
AMFA events are open to the public and support is always wanted. The company has given out around $200,000 over the years.
