People Celebrate Trans Joy Fest In Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. — Trans Joy Fest was back in Duluth on Sunday as people joined together to celebrate the transgender and gender-expansive community.

It was the 3rd annual Trans Joy Fest, which is organized by Trans Northland. The festival supports and celebrates transgender people.

The event has rapidly grown over its short history, even the venue has gotten bigger over the years. This year over 50 organizations and local businesses had vendors at the fest.

“We have a much bigger space, a much bigger area to take up which is amazing, we just get to spread joy and take up the area and it’s amazing that we can have this many people show and this many vendors to support out community,” said Ashe Mixer, volunteer and youth team leader.

Trans Northland provides support and advocacy for the transgender community, and gets people in contact with local resources who also provide support.
