Appreciating Duluth Firefighters and Police Officers
DULUTH, Minn. — This morning, both Duluth police and fire department members were thanked for protectors appreciation day.
This is the second year the Inn on Lake Superior has thanked our local protectors. Firefighters and police officers enjoyed a free breakfast as a thanks. They also met and mingled with the community that stopped by.
“This morning is all about them and just saying thank you because I know I couldn’t do that job, they put their life on the line everyday,” said Nancy Kilpo, event organizer and area sales manager of The Inn on Lake Superior. “We are little old Duluth, Minnesota, but things and scary things do happen here. And this is our way to say thank you, we appreciate all of you.”
“This does a lot for our officers. We know they’re appreciated by our community. We know that they’re supported,” said Duluth Police Chief Mike Ceynowa. “Events like this just drives that nail home for them that there are businesses and community members who truly support them.”
Summertime is when both the Duluth Fire Department and the Duluth Police Department experience more calls, making appreciative gestures more meaningful to our city’s protectors.
