Park Point Rummage Sale 2024
DULUTH, Minn. — The saying goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. However, this rummage sale spans four miles and benefits shoppers, sellers, and even musicians.
For sales like these, you never know what you’re going to walk away with. The 42nd annual Park Point rummage sale brought in many eager shoppers.
“My friend just bought a new house so she is looking for home decor,” said shopper Peyton Andrews.
It is also a great way to spend time with family.
“This is my daughter, and so we like to go garage sailing together and finding good deals. We found some really good deals already!” said Julie Andersson.
This annual rummage sale is like no other, there were 125 yards of deals right in the park point neighborhood. The sales seemed endless. For many it’s very convenient.
“I love neighborhood garage sales though,” said Amber Paulson. “Instead of searching, it’s just boom, boom, boom.”
“Just park and walk. Walk the block,” said Andersson.
For some shoppers, making those connections is just as meaningful.
“Well, we get to talk to the people at the sales a lot,” said Andersson. “You know some of them are trying to sell us stuff, and other people just say hello.”
It’s also great chance to share your hobbies and interests with others. Some Duluth locals eventually switch from shopper, to seller. Kerri Houser sells her candles as a side gig.
“I’ve been to the Park Point rummage sale almost every year. Maybe missed it once,” said seller Kerri Houser. “But now, I actually get to actually work the park point rummage sale which is really exciting for me. This is all new to me.”
There is something here for everyone. The opportunities are endless. For a shopper like Superior Resident Peyton Andrews, it’s easy to get your hands full.
“It is busy,” said Andrews. “Clearly, I’m doing very good. There’s a lot of plants, lots of home decor, love it. This is like our second wagon full!”
Peyton had her mind set on a special item.
“Honestly, I was really excited for some plants, and we definitely found plants,” said Andrews.
Others, just go with the flow.
“I bought a really nice quilt,” said Andersson.
“I found a brand new, tag still on it, case for makeup. Which is really cool!” said Paulson.
Overall, everyone can take home something from a rummage sale this big. Both new experiences, and items new to you.
