Huskies Split Father’s Day Doubleheader With Express

Game one played following Saturday rain delay

DULUTH, Minn.- After a bout of rain postponed Saturday’s game between Duluth and Eau Claire, the Huskies and Express split a Sunday doubleheader at Wade Stadium.

The Huskies entered the day with a 3-0 lead, which came from an MJ Sweeney Saturday home run in the top of the first inning. Duluth stayed in the lead all nine innings, winning 7-4.

In game two, both teams were scoreless until Emilio Barreras hit a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning for Eau Claire. Duluth scored two runs of their own in the fifth, but they couldn’t keep up with the Express, losing 6-5.

Duluth and Eau Claire will play another doubleheader on Monday, with games scheduled at 12:05 p.m. and 6:35 p.m.
