Duluth Police Investigating a Shots Fired Incident – Three Now in Custody

 

Duluth, Minn. — Duluth Police are investigating a shots fired report that happened at about 7:00 am this morning. The incident occurred in the area of N 41st Ave W and W 5th St.  Witnesses observed the people involved enter a nearby residence. A short time later occupants of the house left the residence voluntarily and were detained without incident. There have been no injuries reported.

An 18-year-old Duluth resident  and a 16-year-old juvenile male were taken into custody. The two were transported to the St. Louis County Jail for pending
charges of Aid and Abet Drive by Shooting and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.A 20-year-old Duluth resident was also taken into custody and was taken to the County Jail for a Felony Warrant.

During the execution of a search warrant, a loaded firearm was  seized.

In a statement, Mayor Roger Reinert said, “Too often firearms in the hands of criminals are involved in incidents that turn violent. This incident in no way reflects  the values of Western Duluth, nor is typical of Western Duluth.”
