Michipicoten Returns to the Duluth/Superior Harbor

DULUTH, Minn. — On Thursday, June 20, the 689-foot Michipicoten safely arrived back to the Twin Ports after spending nearly two weeks in Thunder Bay, Ontario for temporary repair.

The vessel suffered a crack to its hull on June 8, taking on significant water near Isle Royale on Lake Superior.

Thursday night, the ship was escorted 180 miles by the Tug Helen H to the Duluth/Superior Harbor and on to Fraser Shipyards.
