Superior Organization Hosts Georgia Peaches Sale For Veterans
SUPERIOR, Wis. — A juicy initiative to give back to veterans is happening over in Superior.
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 435 is hosting their first ever annual Georgia Peaches sale. Pick up will be the second week of July at the Bong Center. All profits stay in the community and go to local veterans in the area.
The organization provides many services to veterans as well as other resources such as gift cards, food, gas, and backpacks. It is $40 per flat, and they each come with a pamphlet full of recipes.
“I’m in contact with the grower about every other day. So, as soon as they start picking, they’ll be packed and sent up within a day,” said Margie Bee, former president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 435. “These are going to be so fresh, refrigerated and we’re going to keep them refrigerated.”
There is only one more day to pre-order. Each flat comes with a little under 30 peaches.
