Partnership Supports And Encourages Cancer Patients
DULUTH, Minn. — A partnership to bring warmth and encouragement to those with cancer took place Wednesday.
The Annual Subaru Loves to Care initiative is where staff give back to Essentia and Aspirus St. Luke’s by donating blankets, pillows, and messages of hope to patients. They collaborate with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Upper Plains Region to make it happen.
It has been going on for about 10 years and staff say people are so thankful to receive the gifts.
“I think having opportunities like this in our community is really important. When patients are diagnosed with cancer it can be a really hard you know trial for them and it’s important that we’re able to give them something like this to support them,” said Tim Wilson, Operations Supervisor at the Aspirus St. Luke’s Cancer Clinic.
By the end of 2024, Subaru of America and its retailers will have supported nearly 350,000 cancer patients around the country.
