CLOQUET Minn.– Hard work and dedication is key for success in the law enforcement field. New recruits were recognized today at the FDLTCC graduation ceremony.

A group of 22 students celebrated their law enforcement skills training. At the ceremony, they showed off their discipline with the uniform inspection to loved ones. Some of the students went above and beyond, and their efforts were rewarded. Andrew Schamberger was granted the Les Northrup Leadership award.

“I think, leadership among my classmates, and being as much of a mentor as I could.” said Schamberger

Being able to coach the students effectively is crucial for reliable, and well-rounded officers.  Zach Smith graduated a decade ago and was eager to share his knowledge.

“I realized that it’s kind of a front row seat to the greatest show on Earth, the human experience. Every day you don’t know what you’re going to get. Fond du Lac being right here in our backyard, it’s a great school for us to be able to get new recruits at the Duluth Police Department.” said Smith.

Instructors and staff members are confident the new officers will be a positive image in the community.
