Honeyberry Season in Full Swing at Farm LoLa in Wrenshall

WRENSHALL, Minn. — Berry picking is in full swing here in the Northland, and honeyberries at Farm LoLa in Wrenshall are ready for picking.

Farm LoLa has kicked off its berry picking season. The farm offers around 13 varieties of a unique fruit called honeyberries also known as honeysuckles, which are ripe in June and July. The flavor is a cross between a wild blueberry and a sweet tart

Farm LoLa is “pick your own,” people can visit the 10 acre berry field and pick their own honeyberries and strawberries, as well as blueberries later in the season.

“Bring everybody out, we have a whole experience here at Farm LoLa,” said Farm Manager Brett Amundson. “We’ve got chickens that people can visit and say hi to. We have strawberries that can be picked as well, later in the season we’ll have blueberries to that can be picked. It’s just great to get outdoors and do something exciting as a family, something with some fresh air.”

Farm LoLa is open seven days a week.  Picking times are from 8 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.
