Late-Game Rally Not Enough for Huskies Against Border Cats
Duluth's only runs scored in seventh inning
DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Huskies second-half season struggles continued on Monday, falling to the Thunder Bay Border Cats 3-2 at Wade Stadium.
Duluth’s bats couldn’t get anything going in the game’s early stages, only recording two hits through five innings. However, following a weather delay in the top of the seventh, the Huskies found momentum at the plate, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut their deficit to just one. In the bottom of the ninth with just one out, Duluth loaded the bases for a potential walk-off win, but after a strikeout and a pop fly, Thunder Bay returned to their dugout with another win.
The Huskies will now return to the road for a pair of games against the La Crosse Loggers before a two-game stint at Carson Park against the Eau Claire Express
