Businessman Running for U.S. Senate Seat Visits Superior
Eric Hovde (R) Makes Stop Up North on his 'Restore the American Dream' Tour
SUPERIOR, Wisc. — Wisconsin businessman Eric Hovde visited Mama T’s Smokin’ Eats in Superior on his statewide RV tour.
The stop was just one of 28 Hovde plans to make during his week-long campaign travels. Around thirty people came to Mama T’s. In a speech to his supporters, Hovde focused on the U.S.-Mexico Border, inflation, and the fentanyl crisis. He said if elected, Superiorites would feel his impact on these issues.
“We have to get inflation down,” Hovde said. “We have to get control of these crazy prices for our food, our insurance. We have to make housing more afforable. We have to address the access to healthcare — healthcare accessibility has gone down while the costs have gone up.
“These are huge issues that touch everybody’s lives on a daily basis. So, my hope is that if I can get there I can get to work on some of theses big challenges and getting them fixed.”
He also criticized his opponent, incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin, President Joe Biden, and their policies.
After his speech, Hovde quickly answered questions and shook hands. Then, he was back on the campaign RV, headed to his next stop.
