The four day festival has plenty to explore for everyone
TWO HARBORS, Minn. — Friday was the second day of Two Harbor Heritage Days, a summertime celebration for the North Shore community.
Heritage Days is well underway in Two Harbors. The festival invites locals and tourists alike to enjoy an arts and crafts show, parades, entertainment, and dancing. With something for everyone, the four day celebration is a hit among families.
Two Harbors resident Patrice King said she brought her family to the festival “to support our local community and to hang out, get some tasty treats.”
“It’s really huge seeing everybody that you know in the community and just feeling at home,” King said.
The festival not only brings out locals, but visitors and vendors from far and wide. Sue Debartolo of Sew Whimsical Quilting drove six hours from Ankeny, Iowa for the art fair. She said her and her husband love to drive up the North Shore and hike. They came two years ago are back again to share the love of quilting.
“Meeting the people that are coming here, we get a lot of stories,” DeBartolo said. “A lot of customers that come by, sometimes they just want to take a look at the quilts and sometimes they have a story behind. Maybe their mom has been a quilter, so they want to look at the different quilts that we make. And it’s super important to just to listen to them and have them share their story with us.”
DeBartolo encourages anyone who hasn’t stopped by to enjoy the craft show and festivities running all weekend. Saturday and Sunday there will be a pancake breakfast, 5k run or walk, helicopter rides, parades, and more.
