Infielder Peyton Powell Becomes Latest Former Husky to Sign MLB Deal

Powell is the fourth former Husky to be picked up by an MLB club this week.

DULUTH, Minn.- A former Husky signed a pro deal on Wednesday.

Infielder Peyton Powell has signed a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Powell spent two summers with the Huskies in 2021 and 2022.

During that time, he tallied 58 hits and 38 RBI’s in 57 games. He also pitched a little, throwing three and two thirds of an inning of shutout baseball.

Powell just wrapped up his five-year playing career at the University of Texas.

He’s the 4th Husky this week to be picked up by a major league ball club.
