New Kiosks Unveiled Show Cultural History in Cloquet
CLOQUET, Minn. — A way to show cultural history all while exploring Dunlap Park in Cloquet started on Wednesday.
The City of Cloquet and Fond du Lac Band collaborated to introduce kiosks to the area. Community members can explore the park and learn about the Ojibwe language and history of the area at the same time. The unveiling included an honor song, ceremony, and speakers to talk about the importance of the kiosks.
“So, every step that we can bring the world forward and being aware of all of the history of the area that’s pretty much what our goal is,” said Jeff Savage, Director of Language & Cultural Division.
The project is all thanks to a grant from the Blandin Foundation that was given to help create the kiosks.
