Hermantown SummerFest Highlights Local Businesses

HERMANTOWN, Minn. — Hermantown SummerFest is this week and is filled with lots of ways to have fun in the community.

The weeklong celebration is all about supporting local businesses. Events include free bowling at Skyline Social and Games and a tent party at the Beacon Sports Bar. Do North Pizzeria and Pub has been hosting an event for about 12 years. They call it Pistons n’ Pizza.

The owner says the cars draw people in, and it doesn’t matter if they are shiny, dented or rusted.

“It’s kind of ageless. I mean you get people that are in their 70’s and 80’s that drove these cars when they were new. And you get a bunch of little kids looking at a Model T wondering, ‘what was this for’? you know it’s just everybody is always interested,” said Bryan Gray, owner of Do North Pizzeria and Pub.

Hermantown SummerFest goes through Sunday with an ice cream social to end the event.
