Knowing Your Neighbor: Food Truck Brings Korean Flavors to Duluth
DULUTH, Minn.– A love for Korean cooking, and a desire to share it with others. That’s what Go Sunhee had in mind when moving to the states from South Korea just under a decade ago.
“I love cooking, and my family, my friends loved my cooks,” said owner Go Sunhee.
Sunhee’s Little Table started up their food truck a little over two months ago in Duluth, with a goal of spreading the taste of home.
“Americans like the Korean food, and what I was missing was my Korean food,” explained Sunhee.
Some tastes, come from her younger years growing up. “I think about, how is mom’s cooking? You know, it’s like a warm dish,” said Sunhee.
Right off the bat, Sunhee had a positive attitude going into the business. “They give it a try, and hopefully they like it!” said Sunhee.
The food truck has a rotating menu, featuring a handful of authentic dishes, including bulgogi, which is a thinly sliced marinated beef. Rice cakes are also on the menu. And while Korean delicacies is the focus, Sunhee knows she has to keep a space for the American palate.
“Not making super spicy, just mild,” said Sunhee with a smile.
Like many food trucks, Sunhee’s Little Table will rotate through different breweries, and other venues, bringing Korean flair to fun locations in the Northland.
“I can tell my heart is really exciting. I’m in the community and people, I’m so appreciated, you guys enjoy my food and that’s the like just starting my food truck never disappointed myself. Yeah so, I’m so happy,” said Sunhee.
