Community Action Annual Training Conference Takes Place at the DECC
DULUTH, Minn. — Minnesota Community Action’s Annual Training Conference kicked off Tuesday at the DECC.
“It’s my honor and pleasure to welcome and thank you Minnesota Community Action Partnership for hosting your 60th anniversary here in Duluth. The theme ‘Our Legacy, Our Future’ feels particularly fitting,” said Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert. “To work with people to address causes and conditions of poverty and to develop programs to break that poverty cycle again through education, employment services, youth programs and other outreach services.”
Mayor Reinert was one of several opening speakers, largely praising the work of Community Action and thanking them. The conference focuses on training people to be effective community leaders and strengthen their skills in serving their community. The three-day event has several breakout sessions. Some of the sessions include overdose response training, understanding the legislative process, trauma informed education, and many other topics. The event wraps up this Thursday.
