Former Husky Nick Sogard Called Up to Big Leagues By Boston Red Sox

DULUTH, Minn.- A former Husky is heading to the bigs.

On Wednesday, the Red Sox called up infielder Nick Sogard from Triple A.

The Los Angeles native last suited up for the Huskies in the summer of 2018. In 57 games of action, Sogard had 64 hits with 37 runs batted in.

He’s the 2nd known former Husky to be called up to the major leagues this season, joining former Cubs pitcher and now Tampa Bay Ray Hunter Bigge.

Sogard’s first chance to make his debut will come Friday when Boston plays the Texas Rangers. First pitch is at 7:05 pm.
