Volunteering is the Cat’s Meow!

DULUTH, Minn. — Volunteering is the cat’s meow.

Wired Whisker in Duluth is known for its Zen atmosphere, with a calm collected energy. The volunteers contribute their time monitoring the cat lounge. While this is happening, they’re able to answer questions, and make sure participants are following the rules. In addition, they help by keeping the lounge clean, and of course, keeping the cat’s company as well. According to Wired Whisker owner Misha Smith, the volunteers are the backbone to the small business. Through this experience, it can give folks a sense of belonging.

“My hope is that cat lounge volunteers, by spending time here, that they’re able to really feel a part of our family as a small business. It’s been fun to have the role kind of evolve. We now have some volunteers interested in helping us do transport,” said Misha Smith, owner of Wired Whisker Cat Cafe.

If you’re wanting to involve yourself in helping this small business through volunteer work, there’s more information on how to get started on their website!
