Duluth Public Library Takes Book Club Outdoors

DULUTH, Minn. — The Duluth Public Library is taking one of their book clubs outdoors.

The Adventure Book Club was created through a partnership with Duluth Parks and Recreation. The club runs June through October, and they read books related to all things outdoors and nature.

This edition of the club featured Dan Egan’s, The Death and Life of the Great Lakes. A book all about how the Great Lakes are threatened as well as how they can be restored.

The discussion at Park Point Public Beach House was followed by a hike.

“Book clubs are a staple at the library, but we live in Duluth which is like the outdoor city. So, it just seemed like we needed to do it outdoors and everyone’s really interested in getting outside and taking advantage of our short precious summers,” said Stacey Rock, library technician for the Duluth Public Library.

The Adventure Book Club will meet again in September. This is the second season and every year the club fills up fast.
