Perfect Weather For 3rd-Annual Scottish Scramble

DULUTH, Minn.– The third-annual Scottish Scramble kicked off with a bang on Monday! A cannon fired sending off the participants to begin the tournament.

More than 100 golfers teed up at the Ridgeview Golf Course in Duluth.  There was plenty of Scottish flair with St. Andrews flags decorating the carts, and golf cups.

It’s all about sharing their culture, while raising money for the Duluth Scottish Heritage Association and the Masonic Children’s Clinic for Communication Disorders.

“I’m involved with the Duluth Scottish Heritage Association, and we thought of this a couple years ago. And we wanted to partner with someone who is local, another nonprofit who could use the support.” explained event organizer Jason Reid. “The DSHA does not have a building to maintain, or exorbitant costs to maintain on an annual basis. We wanted to partner with somebody who could maybe use some of the support.”

Last year, the Scottish Scramble raised around 3-thousand dollars for Masonic Children’s Clinic.
This organization helps fund field trips for children, providing real life experiences, and support for speech therapy outside of the clinic.
