Town Line Farms Hosts Pony Camp
CLOQUET, Minn.–Summer camps are traditionally known for camping, swimming and outdoor games. But for one longtime farm, it’s all about the ponies.
Over at Town Line Farms and Stable, kids of all ages have been spending the summer learning the ropes of horsemanship.
Everything from horse safety, riding fundamentals and even horse science. And on top of that some of the teachers were once students of the camp.
The founder of Town Line Farms tells us the animals help kids build their confidence.
The first day, they’re kind of shy. But by the end of the day, they’re telling mom and dad ‘We want to live here, don’t take us home!'” said Town Line Farms owner and founder Jill Dryke. “We have a hard time shooing them off the farm.”
“We have a lot of homeschooled kids that come here. So, they use our curriculum for part of their credits,” added Dryke.
For one camper, this isn’t her first rodeo. She’s been going here for three years and absolutely loves it.
“Well, I was really nervous. Now, I know that it’s actually really fun.” said camper Sawyer Roberg, “It’s really fun being around all the people, and the horses.”
Town Line Farms remains open all year round. They offer all types of events and classes for people of all ages.
