Trail Fest Returns for Second Year at Hartley Nature Center
DULUTH, Minn. — The cool start to the weekend gave a relaxed fall-feel for the second annual Hartley Nature Center’s Trails Fest.
Trails Fest celebrates all things outdoor recreation. They connect the community to local partners with the gear to try out on the trails at Hartley Park.
Ski Hut provided mountain bikes for families, with a group bike ride led by Continental Ski. Duluth Foot Trail Alliance and Superior Hiking Trail Association lead guided tours.
Recreation & Stewardship Program Manager at Harley Nature Center, Matt Willey, said that the celebration also extends as a thanks to the community partners that support the park.
“It’s so great having all of these organizations be a part of not only this festival but also daily activities in Hartley,” said Willey. “We have a lot of great organizations that help maintain the trails, help build the trails. We have a lot of great organizations that are actively getting people into the park.”
Alongside getting people active outside, several educational tours were also led by Hartley’s community partners. One led by the Superior Hike Trail Association educated people on how to leave no trace behind while enjoying the outdoors.
