Friday Night Northland Forecast: 8/16/2024

Another Marvelous Weekend!

To start the weekend, we will have both an Air Quality Alert (smoke from Canada) and a Dense Fog Advisory in effect Saturday morning. But, the weekend will definitely improve from there. There is also a 30% chance for light rain Saturday morning, but I didn’t want to pile on!

The stubborn low pressure system that’s been bugging us since Thursday will finally be ushered out of the region by a strong high pressure system sliding in from North Dakota. So, after beginning the weekend in a grey, smoky fog, things should improve after lunchtime on Saturday. We will end up with sunny skies and a high in the mid 70s. Sunday should start and end with blue skies and sunshine, and a high in the upper 70s.

As we head into the 3rd week of August, look for sunshine and dry conditions, with highs in the mid 70s all week. Perfect weather for the start of the Minnesota State Fair on Thursday.

Have a great weekend!
