Sunny Today, Then Rain On The Way?

The days area getting shorter. The average daytime high temp is getting lower. And the Minnesota State Fair starts tomorrow. Those are all sure signs that fall is approaching. There is no way around it. But it will still feel quite summer-like for the next several days, so let’s enjoy it!

High pressure will again bring us more sunshine than clouds today, and winds out of the south and southeast will do a better job of warming us up, than the winds straight off Lake Superior yesterday. Our high on Tuesday was a mere 69, far short of our average high of 75 for the date. We’ll be right back to normal today, with a high around 76 degrees, and mainly sunny skies. I’ve been searching for signs of rain for days, and it looks like I might finally get my wish late on Thursday. A fast moving disturbance may bring us up to a third of an inch of rain Thursday evening into early Friday. It won’t exactly be epic, but I’m thankful for any rain our lawns can get. After that, we look dry and sunny, and warmer into next week. The weekend actually looks very nice, with highs around 80 both days, and tons of sun.

So, we march thru the second half of August knowing that Fall is less than a month away, yet we will find something to celebrate about every single (gradually shorter) day!
