Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance Hosts Kick Off Events Prior To Light Duluth Teal Gala
DULUTH, Minn. — Organizers are hosting kick off events to highlight an important gala coming up next month.
The Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance has been hosting the Light Duluth Teal Gala for 11 years now. This year the kickoff events are to get the word out and get as many people signed up as possible. The first event is September 1st at Bent Paddle Brewery. And the second one is September 3rd at Wild State Cider. Those who attend learn about how they can get involved. The hope is to keep spreading awareness about ovarian cancer and raise money for research.
“It often goes undetected. Most women are diagnosed at a late stage so, we want to get the word out there about this cancer. The most common symptoms are difficulty eating, feeling bloated, pelvic or abdominal pain, as well as urinary issues,” said Kristine Greer, Board Member of the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.
Light Duluth Teal is taking place September 28th. It includes a program with speakers, a silent auction, games, and a nice dinner.
Several Duluth landmarks will light up teal September 27th and 28th. Those include the DECC, Pier B Resort, and the Radisson Hotel.
